The killer was identified by the teener's companion.

Jamil Dima Camaro, a resident of Mini Forest along Quezon Boulevard, was just sitting in front of an eatery in their neighborhood at around 8:30 p.m. with a friend named Mark when the gang leader approached and stabbed him several times.

The gang leader was identified as one Brian Macalos, a name readily recognized by the police as he has had several police records for crimes and mischief.

Police Officer 3 Danilo Daquigan, prober of the Sta. Ana Police Precinct, told Sun.Star Davao that Camaro was still brought to the Medical Mission Group Hospital along Leon Garcia Street in Agdao, but he was declared already dead by Dr. Jeffrey Peligro. He died of four stab wounds in the lower part of his chest and on his shoulder.

"Macalos is a notorious thief and snatcher, we also monitored him as a leader of a gang, he has been detained here several times, but every time we arrest him, no one will file charges against him so we just release him," Daquigan told Sun.Star Davao.

Daquigan added that after the incident, they immediately conducted a manhunt operation against Macalos, but the latter could no longer be found in his house.

"Definitely, we will file charges against him (Macalos) if there will be a complainant who will show up," Daquigan said.

Meanwhile, Police Officer 2 Michael Uyanguren, who is also among those investigating the case, said the killing may be related to gang rivalry. He theorized that the victim belongs to a rival gang of Macalos.
