Executives win

THE Legislators ran out of luck again in the fourth quarter as the Executives, with their backs against the wall, fought back to take Game 2, 107-98, of the 12th Season of the Executive-Legislative Basketball Tournament, at the Davao City Recreation Center.

The Legislators trailed by as many as 20 points to grab the lead, 74-73, at the end of the third quarter.

But after that, City Sports Coordinator Christopher "Bong" Go, City General Services Officer Marvin "Oying" Melodias, Melchor Gadiano, Jonel Avendaño jelled at crunch time to regain the lead and never looked back.

Aldrin Casado led the Legislators on the attack, 1:45 remaining in the last canto, and cut the lead to just three points, 96-99, but their errors gave the Executives the opportunity to bounce back.

Go, who also concurrently executive assistant of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, found his way to the free throw line after being fouled by Casado twice and sank three out of four tries, 105-98.

Gadiano sealed the win by canning in the gift shots en route to his team's second victory.

Executives 107 - Go 28, Gadiano 20, Avenda¤o 19, Basilio 16, Melodias 15, Rivera 3, Abasolo 3, Alquizar 3.
Legislators 98 - Casan 20, Narisma 20, Casado 20, Araneta 13, Yamit 12, Plarisan 6, Apostol 2, Abellera 2, Bredol 2, Alunday 1.
