RP JUNIOR player Jacqueline Caragao led the women's bracket at the start of the two-day Davao Open Table Tennis Tournament held at the S.I.R. Elementary School gym Saturday.
Friendee Nuñez of the Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta) bared this in a text message to Sun.Star Davao.
He said German father-son tandem of Erich Holczchen and Robert Holczchen led the men's bracket along with Alex Ang, Fritzie Magada and Novem Isidor.
Cash prizes and trophies will be given to the top three winners in every category during the awarding rites after the finals matches Sunday.
The men's champion will win P3,000 while the runner-up will get P2,000 and P1,000 will go to the third placer. The women's champion will take home P2,000 while the next two placers will settle for P1,000 and P750.
The tournament is sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission and sanctioned by Table Tennis Association of the Philippines (Tatap) regional director and city councilor Peter Laviña. (MLSA)
