'Ouija' haunts Pinoy viewers starting Wednesday

THEY say good things come to those who wait. With that said, moviegoers everywhere can already start counting on the best starting Wednesday.

GMA Films in cooperation with Viva Films is proud to present the very first full length of Judy Ann Santos and Jolina Magdangal -- Ouija.

The two superstars of their generation are brought together by two of the most important film producers in the country for the movie event of the year.

"We have always had a good working relationship with GMA Films and 'Ouija', we were involved in every step of the production process and I believe that we do have a really good film," said Veronique del Rosario-Corpus, supervising Producer of Viva Films.

Being the first horror film for GMA, Ouija proves to be a true landmark project for the entire film outfit as the movie is expected to have an international premiere.

It is with much pleasure and pride that GMA and Viva Films are eager to share the film with the international market as the movie is beautifully crafted and the performances are genuinely outstanding.

Ouija was a casting coup as it welcomed Judy Ann Santos, who is rarely seen on GMA to join certified Kapuso stars, Jolina Magdangal, Iza Calzado and Rhian Ramos.

Needless to say, the young superstar, Judy Ann Santos, was superb in this film, which is her first horror movie.

Versatile actress and multi-talented young star Jolina Magdangal gives a fine performance as Romina, the timid and shy half sister of Aileen played by Judy Ann Santos.

The youngest among the cast, Rhian Ramos is surely proving her worth as an artist as she received positive reviews for her performance in "The Promise" where she played the role of Monique.

This early in her career, Rhian is instantly drawing more and more fans with the noticeable and consistent improvement in terms of her acting skills.

Last and definitely not the least, the beautiful Iza Calzado plays the role of Sandra, a flirtatious and flamboyant stage actress. Incidentally, Iza Calzado has just been chosen to star in the Hollywood remake of local film Sigaw, which will use The Echo for its international release.

The foreign producers were awed by Calzado's performance in Sigaw that she was the prime choice for the international remake. Iza will be leaving on August 18 for a three week shoot in the US.

The four cousins played by Judy Ann Santos, Jolina Magdangal, Iza Calzado and Rhian Ramos stumble upon an old Ouija board from their childhood, which they will use to call on the spirits of the dead not knowing what danger they invited to their lives by evoking spirits.

It will be interesting to know that the prayer warriors were on standby on the set of the movie to make sure the cast was free from possible entities they might actually and accidentally summon in real life.

Ouija opens in theaters nationwide Wednesday.
