DAVAO City's Novem Isidor and Jacqueline Caragao emerged champions in the just-concluded Davao Open Table Tennis Tournament at the S.I.R. Elementary School. Isidor beat German national Robert Holzchen, 3-2, in the men's singles finals to pocket the P3,000 cash prize.
The latter took the P2,000 runner-up prize while Zoren Patrick Mendiola got P1,000 for third in the two-day event organized by the Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta).
RP junior member Caragao routed former Palarong Pambansa silver medallist Mirabel Roferos, 3-1, for the women's title and the P2,000 prize.
Roferos brought home P1,000 while Jocelyn Enaro placed third with P750.
The tournament, sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission in coordination with the Davao City Sports Council Inc., is sanctioned by Table Tennis Association of the Philippines (Tatap) regional director and Davao City Councilor Peter Laviña. (MLSA)
