SOME 80 woodpushers will vie for honors in the 2nd Bamboo Store Under-12 Rapid Chess Tournament on Saturday, at the Victoria Plaza.
The champion will receive a chess gold medal and P500 worth of gift certificates while the runner-up will pocket a silver medal and P300 worth of gift certificates.
The bronze medallist will win P200 worth of gift certificates in the five-round Swiss System format tournament for 12 years old and below players. Registration fee is 35.
Chino Porras of Bamboo Store is project director of the competition to be held in coordination with the Blue Knight Chess Club.
