YBL's decision to reduce routes is understandable
By Ben O. Tesiorna

DAVAO City Mayor and Regional Peace and Order Council chairman Rodrigo Duterte sympathized with the decision of the Yellow Bus Line to temporarily stop operation in some areas after the explosion inside its terminal in Koronadal City last Friday.

Duterte said the YBL decision is somewhat like a protest action to the continuing extortion done by the Al Khobar group on the company.

He said this could also be their way of demanding more protection from the government.

"Anyway the decision of the YBL is beyond me dahil sa ibang region sila nag-stop ng operation. It's understandable," Duterte said.

The YBL company reportedly halted its bus operation in the area of Sarangani and South Cotabato after a number of its buses were bombed by alleged extortionists because the bus line did not give in to demands for money.

Aside from YBL, the Weena Bus company is also contemplating on closing shop after several of their buses were also bombed in Central Mindanao.
