Davao posts P1.79B tax collection in Q2

A TOTAL of P1.79 billion was the total tax collection posted by Davao Region Office during the second quarter of the year, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) reported.

The figure was higher compared to revenue collection in the first quarter, pegged at P1.45 billion.

Davao del Sur, said to have the highest revenue collection in Mindanao, contributed to the significant growth of a total figure of P1.38 billion revenue collection for the region.

The Northern Mindanao, composed of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, had a total revenue collection of P1.09 billion, also higher from the first quarter figure of only P884.26 million.

Region 12 or the Soccsksargen region, has a total revenue collection of P769.90 million. The region was reported to have only a total revenue collection of P594.39 million during the first three months of the year.

The Caraga Region, on the other hand, recorded a total of P658.37 million for the period, also higher compared to the P418.90 million during the first quarter, while the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) had a total of P562 million and P123.43 million revenue collection, respectively.
