Tuesday, August 07, 2007 DMC creates assistance desk to better healthcare service By Carlo P. Mallo
THE Davao Medical Center will be the first-ever hospital in Davao Region to have a public information and assistance desk (PIAD) as the Department of Health (DOH) in Southern Mindanao will be pushing for better healthcare services.
"The PIAD will provide fast and immediate information on hospital procedures and health programs," Dr. Gerardo Cunanan, DMC director said Monday.
On the other hand, DOH director Dr. Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial is hopeful that other hospitals, be it private or public would follow suit in putting a PIAD in their respective areas.
"The purpose of the PIAD is to provide a better government hospital that will provide accessible, quality, and affordable services especially to the poor," Ubial added.
The DOH-Southern Mindanao is set to put up another PIAD at the Davao Regional Hospital in Tagum City.
