Mayor to go on vacation leave during Kadayawan
By Ben O. Tesiorna and Carlo P. Mallo

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is planning to take a two-week vacation leave in time for the Kadayawan celebration of the city.

In his television program "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" Sunday, Duterte said he will be relegating the task on running the city to his daughter, Vice Mayor Sara Duterte, especially during the Kadayawan celebration.

Duterte said he needs a vacation because his medical operation on September for the pain in his shoulder is fast approaching.

Sara said she will be handling the post of acting mayor for at least two weeks.

However, she admitted that there was no specific time when Mayor Duterte would be on leave.

She also expressed that she is not nervous in temporarily taking over the post of her father. "Dili man kulba (It does not make me nervous), it's really no big deal," Inday Sara expressed.

The mayor is tentatively starting his vacation leave on August 10.
