NOT too far from the downtown area is a music bar known for its "woody" concept -- from tables, chairs and walls to its signage are made of wood.
On July 28, this unassuming place called Wudkraf Music Gallery, celebrated its first birthday, treating its loyal customers to a night of music, videoke singing, good food and overflowing beers.
The place has indeed gathered a sizeable number of gimikeros in the city. It was a well-attended party with guests singing their hearts out, with the bar's in-house host Al Raiz, until the wee hours of the morning.
Though the party was spoiled by power interruption caused by faulty wiring, this never dampened the spirits of those who partied with bar owners -- Serge Baura, Lucel Panagsagan, Josephine Aradillos and Alexis Pawaon, who manages the bar.
Guests just stayed on their seats, waiting for the power to resume, which took about two hours.
At Wudkraf, located in Matina, Davao City, near the gate of Villa Josefina, videoke afficionados have nothing to worry. With friendly and the ever-accommodating host Al, they are always assured of the chance to showcase their singing prowess -- everybody has the chance to hold on to that microphone.
