Ladra spearheads Sara team in mayor’s cycling challenge

SO Kim Cheng Sports Foundation road bike awardee Hilario Ladra leads the cast for the Inday Sara Cycling Team, as the Mayor Rody Duterte Team Cycling Challenge flags off at 8 a.m. along Magallanes St., near City Hall Drive Saturday.

This was bared by PhilCycling Davao's Salvador "Jun" Paholio Jr. Tuesday.

Paholio said Ladra, who is team captain, will be joined by Melchor Labaya, Danny Tapao, and Marvin Aleonar with Engr. Mark Cayetano as team manager.

"Five teams have already confirmed to join the race," Paholio said.
The Lipovitan Team is bannered by team captain Glen Yap, Glen Ibañez and Pawpaw Urdaneta.

The free registration 90-kilometer race features the team classification open elite, individual classification and veterans 40 years old and above divisions.

From Magallanes, the riders will proceed to Ulas, Calinan, Diversion Road, Bunawan, Panabo City and back to Bunawan passing by Buhangin, El Rio Subd., Chinese Cemetery, UIC along Fr. Selga St. going back to Magallanes.

Cash prizes of P5,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 will be awarded to the top four teams, respectively. They will also receive trophies.
In the veterans and individual classification events, the first three finishers will receive P2,500, P1,500 and P1,000. The next five riders will pocket P200 each.

The bikefest is organized by Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office and Philycling Davao. It is sponsored by Coca-Cola, Lipovitan and Jsall Marketing Services.

Registration is still ongoing at the Jaltan Food Centrum in Magallanes Street.
