By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

CHARGES have been filed against a man accused of trying to rape his sister-in-law inside their house in Barangay Buda in Marilog district, Davao City, early this month.

Charged with attempted rape was Alden (real name witheld to protect the dignity of the complainant) after Prosecutor Retrina Fuentes found probable cause to hold him for court trial based on the complaint filed by the victim, Rosalie, 15.

In an affidavit, Rosalie claimed that in the afternoon of August 7, she was inside her room when the suspect, the husband of her sister, barged in.

She said she stood up, but the suspect grabbed her hand before leaving her inside the room.

Rosalie claimed that on the same day, she was watching television when the suspect suddenly held her hand and kissed her in the neck and face.

She said she resisted, but the suspect was strong and held her tightly. She said the suspect then hugged her and removed her shirt.

She claimed the suspect immediately jumped off the window when his wife called him.

She said the suspect threatened to kill her if she tells anybody about the incident.

Fuentes recommended bail of P120,000 for the respondent's temporary liberty.
