Mayor refuses to rate vice mayor daughter

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte refused to rate the performance of his daughter, Vice Mayor Sara Duterte, whom he appointed recently as acting mayor after taking a leave of absence starting last week.

In an interview after meeting with officials of the Davao Integrated Development Program Tuesday, Duterte said he does not want to discuss his daughter, knowing that she doesn't want to be talked about.

"I will not because I'll be biased. I'm not a very good judge there. Ayaw ko din sabihin ang (I also don’t want to give) feedback. She does not want to be talked about; she does not want to be a recipient of suggestions. Kaya iiwas na lang ako," the father said.

Commenting on this week's situation where two women hold the top two highest positions in the city, Duterte said in jest that this seems to be a bad week for men.

With Sara at the helm, taking over as acting vice mayor is top Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta. (BOT)
