Davao booters dump CDO-Misamis in Olympic festival

THE DAVAO City booters posted their second straight win by dismantling Cagayan de Oro-Misamis Oriental Football Association (CMOFA), 5-0, in the Under-15 category of the ongoing Philippine Olympic Festival Mindanao qualifying tournament, at Camp Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City.

Jomar Acedo led the Davao attack, scoring in the 23rd, 36th and 57th minutes.

Francis Abrasaldo and Renz Napuran added a goal in the 21st and 60th, respectively, to complete the rout.

Davao won via default over North Cotabato in the opener Monday.

Davao, coached by Christian Ea and David Peñano, is in Group A with Compostela Valley, and Iligan-Lanao Norte FA.

CMOFA earlier beat ComVal, 3-1, in the Philippine Football Federation (PFF)-sanctioned meet.

Davao is also composed of Tomar Acedo, Generic Awing, Emmanuel Joshue Brisson, Joshua Paolo Carrasco, Romeo Raphael Du, Derrico Gabriel Diamante, Angelo David Diamante, Jose Edgar Ilagan, Jorem Samuel Jabile, Nam Hyun Kang, Francis Patrick Lim, Jayve Mabuslang, Amiel Jan Paclibar, Robert Manuel Torrejon, Amani Aguinaldo and Isiah Simms.

Davao del Norte, Bukidnon, Cotabato City, Province of Misamis Oriental and Saranggani make up Group B.

The top two teams in each group will enter the semi-finals round to determine the top three teams that will represent Mindanao to the national finals set in Manila in November.
