Wednesday, August 15, 2007 Mojica named new prexy of volleyball association
GOVERNMENT Service Insurance System (GSIS) Davao manager Mario "Koyam" Mojica was chosen the new president of the Davao Amateur Volleyball Association (Dava) for 2007 to 2009 in the election held at the Holy Cross of Davao College Monday night.
Mojica, who was instrumental in introducing scientific volleyball in the 80s, was elected to the post via unanimous decision.
He replaced engineer D'artagnan Yambao, who was his teammate at the University of Mindanao (UM) varsity team.
Yambao is no longer qualified to run for a local post having been designated as director for Mindanao of the Philippine Volleyball Association (PVF).
"The unity of the new DAVA board is very crucial for the continuous growth and success of the association and the sport," Mojica said in his acceptance speech.
He encouraged the new Board of Directors to work as a team, exercise fairness, and dedication. (MLSA)
