By Nelson C. Bagaforo

MARIAN Rivera is indeed heading for the big time.

The pilot episode of the Pinoy version of Marimar, which she top-billed opposite Dingdong Dantes, posted an overnight rating of 36.6 percent, making it the highest rating program on GMA's primetime telebabad bloc on Monday.

"Marimar," Marian's biggest break on television, easily beat ABS-CBN's "Deal or No Deal" hosted by Kris Aquino, with 26.5 percent, even as the game show had Aga Muhlach as its guest player. This was based on the overnight rating released by AGB Nielsen Philippines for Mega Manila households.

Marimar airs Monday to Friday after Lupin.

All other GMA primetime programs also beat the competition on Monday.

Ang Mga Mata Ni Anghelita had 35.7 percent household ratings as against Kokey's (ABS-CBN's newest program) 25.1 percent; Lupin posted 36 percent against Ysabella's 26.5 percent; Impostora garnered 33.9 percent vis-a-vis Walang Kapalit at 21.1 percent, and Jumong register 30 percent rating against Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos?' 16.1 percent.

For two days, starting Friday, Dabawenyos will be treated to a day of fun, bonding and entertainment with Kapuso stars at the Exhibition Center, 4th Level of NCCC Mall of Davao from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

GMA kicks off the explosive weekend stretch via a Kapuso Day celebration with thrilling games and surprises in various booths where visitors can take home unique collectors' items and exciting prizes.

Various services will also be offered for free!

Have a haircut at the Libreng Gupit booth, have your picture taken at the Libreng Kodakan booth or better still, wind everything up with a free consultation at the Libreng Serbisyo booth where the city civil registrar, among others, will be setting up their mobile booth to bring public service to all.

There will also be a two-day Kapuso Job Fair to be done in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment XI where some 46 local and overseas employers will offer around 2,000 jobs.

During Kapuso Day, kid star Ella Guevarra of QTV's "Kids on Q" will render a song and dance number together with other Kapuso stars who will grace the must-not-miss activities at the NCCC Mall.

Kapusong Dabawenyos will get the chance to meet and greet their favorite GMA celebrities and personalities.

Kapuso heartthrob and Drama Prince Dennis Trillo leads the drama pack together with Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap co-stars Nadine Samonte and Davao's pride, StarStruck First Princess Iwa Moto.

Funnyman Keempee De Leon will also join the Friday Kapuso Day with the sexy Ehra Madrigal and Pauleen Luna in tow. Keempee is one of the hosts of the comedy-reality show Kung Ako Ikaw; while Ehra is a Nuts Entertainment regular who is also the popular sidekick of Richard Gutierrez in Lupin; Pauleen meanwhile is one of Eat Bulaga's funny girls and host.

StarStruck Finalist Chuck Allie is also part of the Kapuso delegation who will rock Davao today.

Friday's Kapuso Day is a homecoming of sorts for Chuck who hails from Davao City. Chuck was one StarStruck Year 3's Final Six.

The funny and witty trio of Lani Mercado, Manilyn Reynes and Sherilyn Reyes of QTV's Moms will also be present in the Kapuso Day festivities. And what perfect way to cap this thrilling event than having Davao's best bands bring the house down!

A battle of the bands is set to follow, with Davao's pride 1017, Sidecrash, Ragged Band and Eric Gancio Band heading the list.

This heady and heavy dose of fun and entertainment doesn't end there as the Kapuso treat spills over the following day!

Tomorrow, Testigo's Tek Ocampo and Suzie Rexrodt will lead the Job Fair opening at the NCCC Mall while Kuyaw!'s popular twins Kristine and Krystal will be part of the Bingo and Videoke.

GMA News personalities Susan Enriquez and Love A¤over will also be around to join the festivities. Susan is host of "Kay Susan Tayo" while Love is the acknowledged 'queen of the road', the funny lady behind the Metro Manila traffic updates and the host of GMA's Sunday late-morning show Lovely Day.

Nuts Entertainment's Cookie (Pekto) and Belli Flori (John Feir) will be joining Kapusong Dabawenyos in the Bingo games and Videoke contest as featured celebrity callers! Lucky contestants will not only bring home exciting prizes but tons of laughter as well.

In the afternoon, Kuyaw! will take the centerstage with Bea and Nikko sharing the hosting chores with Kristine and Krystal for the Kapuso Mall Show.

The Saturday event takes a special twist as Marimar and Sergio joins the Kuyaw! barkada! The enchanting Marian Rivera will surely wow every Kapusong Dabawenyo present while the handsome Dingdong Dantes will take care of the females in the audience.

Be prepared to be charmed by the Pinay Marimar as she joins the feverish weekend explosion of stars.

The unbelievably lung-busting vocals of popular country rock band Aegis will further up the ante of the Kapuso mall show. The audience should prepare to be electrified by the band's repertoire as they perform their hits anew and more.

Kapuso Stars simply won't bow out of Davao without celebrating the Kadayawan with their Kapusos.

On Sunday, GMA Network will join the Float Parade with no less than Marimar herself leads the cast. Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes will be riding the Kapuso Float together with fellow Marimar stars Katrina Halili and Michael V.

Bitoy is the voice behind Marimar's popular canine friend, Fulgoso, while Katrina plays the role of Angelika -- Sergio's former girlfriend who marries his father.
