While he claimed the rebel movement enjoys such support, William Man-anohog alias Ka William, one of the 21 rebels who surrendered in Agusan del Sur last week, did not name names.
He further said they also get "support" from illegal loggers and funds from extortion.
Man-anohog said government has enticed them to give up the rebel life with offers of socialized housing, livelihood programs, and even food stubs.
He said there would have been more surrenderees if not for the prevailing fear that their comrades will get back at them once they surrender.
"We have to ensure that our families will be safe," William said.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Bienvenido Datuin of the 28th Infantry Battalion said they will continue to reach out to the NPA to urge the members to give up their arms and return to the folds of the law.
