MILF moving in to Maco, Mabini?
By Carlo P. Mallo

A GROUP of men believed to be members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have reportedly arrived in some Moro communities in Compostela Valley.

Compostela Valley Governor Arthur "Chiongkee" Uy said the military is already monitoring the activities in the area.

"We have received reports that there are people from Basilan who arrived in the municipalities of Maco and Mabini," Uy told Sun.Star Davao Monday.

Uy said despite reports, the peace and order situation throughout his province is relatively peaceful.

He added that they do not regard the Moro rebels as their main problem, as the communist rebels remain a bigger threat.

The Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom), for its part, has intensified its intelligence gathering and has implemented security measures throughout the periphery of its area of responsibility.

Major Randolph Cabangbang, spokesperson of the Eastmincom, said the MILF poses no threat to the community.
