New San Pedro police chief vows to solve killings
By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

THE new San Pedro Police chief vowed to do his best to solve the series of killings in his area of responsibility.

"If the witnesses will surface and cooperate, we can easily solve them," said Chief Inspector Alden Delvo, the new San Pedro police chief.

The absence of witnesses willing to testify against killers has been the stumbling block in serving justice to all those killed, he said.

Delvo said during his three-week stint as the station's chief of police, they have arrested suspects of "akyat-bahay" incidents. His biggest accomplishment so far is the neutralization of former policeman, Allan Estrada, who was one of the country's most wanted criminals.

"Pag assign ko dito, Kadayawan na so I have provided security during the festivities and ngayon, normal police operation na," Delvo said.

Meanwhile, the San Pedro police are now preparing for the Annual General Inspection that will be conducted by the Philippine National Police headquarters.

"Nag formation kami kanina, pina-perform ko ang tropa ng proper arresting methods and 'yung high and low risk checkpoint. Actually, we are expecting for the inspectors pero wala pa man," Delvo said.
