Dalumpines, Caragao annex tablenet titles

VETERAN player Michael Dalumpines and RP junior player Jacqueline Caragao lived up to their billing by clinching the men's and women's singles titles of the Kadayawan sa Dabaw Table Tennis Tournament at the S.I.R. Elementary School Sunday.

Dalumpines of the Philippine Air Force edged his teammate Jarvis dela Cruz, who placed second, while Dario Hernane of Philippine Army Cagayan placed third.

Caragao, a Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) varsity mainstay, defeated University of Mindanao (UM) bet Jocelyn Enarol in their finals encounter.

The latter settled for the runner-up honors while another HCDC bet Debbie Kate Mascardo came third.

Davao City's Gil Ablanque and his brother Glen grabbed the first two spots in the boys 14-under event while General Santos player Kevin Hilado was third.

Lyndell Sellado took the girls under-14 title over fellow Davao players Erika Mendiola and Rechiane Senining.

In men's singles class B, Wene Ken Lopez emerged champion over runner-up Joel Aguelo and third placer Vicente Ventosa.

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was the presenter of the two-day competition that was organized by the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) in coordination with the Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta). (MLSA)
