Davao-based ad firm promotes franchising

THE advertising industry is the newest field that has gone into franchising, a senior franchise consultant said.

Advertising agencies have realized a promising return of investment with the scheme, said RK Franchise Consultancy (RKFC) president Rudolf Anton Kotik during the opening of the 8th Cebu Franchise Expo at SM City Trade Hall last Friday.

Among the advertising agencies that have gone into the franchising business, Rabbit Advertising and Ad and Promo Management (APM) from Davao City, are members of the RKFC.

Rafael Bermejo, APM executive assistant, cited as an example Banok's, a chicken firm, which had been in the business for 10 years but went bankrupt.

He said the company bought a franchise from APM and was able to recover the investment in six months. APM has been in the business since 1989 and has offices in Makati and Davao.

The company is willing to set up an office in Cebu if somebody will buy its franchise, he said.

The company, in a statement, said an ad agency franchise is considered by experts as one of the least economy-dependent industries.

Rabbit Advertising vice president and chief executive officer Karl Kenneth Ramos, for his part, said they are targeting to build offices all over the country in 10 years to offer placemat advertising services. (TEP)
