Friday, August 31, 2007 Palos monthly tournament: An international event By Imee Garcia
LAST Sunday, I joined the monthly tournament at Ranchos Palos Verdes. As usual, the dashing Ting Castillo was the emcee. He mentioned that the monthly tournament in Palos Verdes is now an international event. Yes it was. There were several players from Australia who participated. I don't know if you read the Sun.Star Davao newspaper last Tuesday. If you did, you probably didn't notice the tiny article they had on me on the last page. Ahem. Asked my dad if he read it, and he said he bought all the newspapers already, none left. Hahaha! And he said that my mom had a good laugh when she read the reason why I didn't join tournaments as much as I used to.
Am I a celebrity? I am most certainly not! I am a simple "girl-next-door' type of a person who hardly dresses up, unless necessary. If you see me walking at the mall, I am usually in shorts or jeans, wearing slippers or sandals, and wearing an ordinary t-shirt or a tank top. Don't be scared of me. I am the complete opposite of what you think. I am a shy person.
I watched a movie at SM a couple of weeks ago. While we were lining up to get in, a friendly looking guy, who was standing in front of me, kept staring back at me. I was beginning to wonder why. Maybe I had a piece of popcorn stuck to my hair or something. Then he turned around and said, 'aren't you the one who writes about golf? Oh...that really made me feel nice. I said, "yes" and asked if he reads my articles and asked if they were okay. He said he reads my articles and found them nice, or something to that effect.
I'd like to thank him and the rest of the people who read my articles. Keep buying Sun.Star Davao every Friday and read my column! Correction, buy Sun.Star everyday, not just Fridays. Sun.Star has a lot of good looking and sexy writers. Oh yes, and they write very well, too.
By the way, how are my articles? Are they really worth reading? I guess so, because Stella S. and Charles M. have not kicked me out yet. Hahaha!
