Bernard Castro placed second while Neil Abayon and Lito Laput placed third and fourth, respectively.

Benny Bongato finished fifth followed by Ashley Casil in sixth, Christian Pecson seventh, Gied Avila eighth and Venanie Lofranco ninth.

Dano pocketed P3,000 cash while Castro received P2,000 and P1,000 went to Abayon. Laput and Bongato each got P500.

Tournament director Sammy Yu said John Reymar Montefalcon was the top class B player of the five-round Swiss System format chessfest. (MLSA)
