The victims were identified as Serafin Maduyag, Endalisio Tupiasan, and Bobong Tupiasan.
The three were working inside the Australia tunnel in the gold rush mountain of Diwalwal around 10 p.m. of September 6 when one of the timbers supporting the tunnel suddenly collapsed.
Rocks and soil hit the three miners causing them various injuries. The three are now recuperating at the Davao Regional Hospital in Tagum City.
The miners said Thursday's incident was their second time to experience such a "minor cave in."
Police authorities however in the area were not aware of the cave in as the miners have not reported the incident to them. (BOT)
