HCSD, HCDC demolish foes in GSA Cup

THE Holy Child School of Davao (HCSD) and Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) demolished their opponents in the 5th Gaisano South Cup (GS) at the GS Citimall SkyGym.

The HCSD Reds crushed Davao City National High School (DCNHS), 110-45, Thursday to grab its third straight win in the juniors division 1.

Miguel Plata lifted the Reds with 19 points, nine rebounds and two steals while DCNHS' Junneil Alonzo and John Michael Mier combined for 17.

DCNHS dropped to 0-3, win-loss record in the Basketball Association of the Philippines-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (BAP-SBP)-sanctioned cagefest.

On Friday, HCDC whipped the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), 84-57, as Ian Vic Bulanadi top-scored with 21 points and grabbed three rebounds and one steal for the best player of the game honors.

Pochollo Fulgar, however, scored game-high 23 for the losing cause.

HCDC held a 2-1 card while UIC had 1-2 in juniors division 1. Games were ongoing as of this writing Saturday.

Sunday's matches pit UCCP against HCDC in the mini division at 10 a.m., St. Peter's College of Toril (SPPCT) vs HCSD at 12 p.m. in cadet category, Davao Central College (DCC) vs Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Smad) at 1:30 p.m. in cadet and Davao Wisdom Academy (DWA) vs Assumption College of Davao (ACD) at 3 p.m. in Juniors’ Division 2.

In Juniors’ Division 1, SPPCI battles Agro at 4:30 p.m. while DCNHS collides with JMC at 6 p.m. (MLSA)
