The suspect, Artemio Marimon, 58, of Daliao, Toril, is presently detained at the Toril police station.
The two were living together in a rented house on De Guzman street in Toril.
SPO2 Francisco Paña, in an interview with Sun.Star SuperBalita, said they have already filed murder charges against the suspect.
Paña said based on initial investigation, the incident occurred at around 9 a.m. at the residence of the couple.
After having a drinking spree, a heated argument erupted between the two. According to the police officer, the suspect admitted he felt extremely jealous.
"Nag-inom ni sila early morning sa ilang rented house then tungod sa selos-selos labi na batan-on pa ning babae, nag-block-out siguro ang huna-huna sa lalaki mao nga iyang napusilan (They had a drinking spree and because of the man's belief that the woman, who is much younger, has other interests as well, the man got jealous and shot her)," Paña said.
The victim was brought to the Davao Medical Center but was declared dead by attending physicians.
The suspect, Paña said, was immediately arrested by authorities and they confiscated a caliber .38 gun from his possession, which he used in shooting the suspect. (RCO)
