Brokenshire rules Dacs table tennis

THE Brokenshire College (BC) captured three titles in men's event at the close of the Dacs Sportsfest 2007 Table Tennis Tournament held at the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) over the weekend.

BC's Gene Ablanque emerged champion in men's singles A over Daniel Ines of the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) and Louie Martin Empig of the San Pedro College (SPC) who placed second and third, respectively.

Ablanques's teammate Bobby Carballo topped the men's singles B while Francis Paul Muņoz of AMA College was in second place and Kenneth Barroga of the University of the Philippines in Mindanao (UP Min) placed third.

Randolf Dagoy and Kirby Stanton then combined forces to hand BC the men's doubles title. Their tandem bested Vixcir Lopez-Ryan Francisco of SPC and Kenneth Bentulan-Rocky Ralph Aņabieza of UP Min, who took the next two spots.

In the women's division, HCDC clinched three titles with RP junior player Jacqueline Caragao and Doren Gallano ruling the doubles event.

Caragao-Gallano won against AdDU's Rhea Redoņa-Aiza Rondael and SPC's Carmie Paulette-Almarie Dacono.

HCDC's Debbie Kate Mascarado captured the singles A crown while former Palarong Pambansa medallist Mirabel Roferos topped singles B.

Mascarado dominated her class as against Aimalyn Celebrado and UP's Glorypearl Dy while Roferos lorded it over AdDU's Aysa Aguirre and UP's Gloryrose Dy. (MLSA)
