Sunday, September 16, 2007 Tesda to set up online system for jobseekers By Grace L. Plata
JOB hunting would soon be easier for graduates of technical-vocational courses through an online system to be initiated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).
The e-Job Search and Referral Service will be activated within this year in partnership with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the PhilJobnet of the Department of Labor, JobsDB, and Job1Global.
"Local and overseas employers stand to benefit from the e-Tesda Information package since it includes the registry of certified land-based and sea-based workers," Tesda-Southern Mindanao information officer Mafel Joan Negrido said Friday.
The roster of qualified and certified trainers is also part of the package, along with the roster of employed graduates of the PGMA-Training for Work Scholarship Project.
"Young people will also be effectively guided by the registry of technical-vocational programs authorized by Tesda, including the training calendars of the Tesda technology institutions," Negrido said.
To broaden access to training services and standardize knowledgeable-based training delivery, e-Tesda Training becomes a vital component of e-Tesda, a web portal that carries Tesda's training programs in full online and blended learning modes, which shall soon be part of Filipino tech-voc (technical-vocational) students' daily routine.
