Dabaewenyos in Australia want to help city projects
By Grace L. Plata

A GROUP of Dabawenyos based in Australia have committed to pour in support for the establishment of a city college as well as to fund the creation of a day-care center.

Councilor Edgar Ibuyan named the Davao Association of Australia as the group that has manifested the intention to help the City Council in its priority projects.

"Amigo man nato ang isa sa members sa organization. Daghan sila ug proposal nga proyekto nga makatabang gyud sa Davao (One of the members of the organization is our friend and they have a lot of project proposals that can help Davao)," Ibuyan said.

Ibuyan added that the 36-year-old association has already helped fund projects like the Gawad Kalinga housing projects in Bulacan but said they'd like to concentrate on Davao, too.

"I-submit sa nila ang mga proposal kay Ma'am Sara arun nga magkasinabot kung asa ug kanus-a ipa-implement ang mga proyekto (They have to submit their proposal to Vice Mayor Sara Duterte first so that the city can coordinate with them regarding the project implementation)," Ibuyan said.

Aside from support to the proposed city college, the group also committed to contribute to the Sagop Bata Para sa Kaugmaon Program of the city mayor, a program that feeds and sends financially-challenged children to school.

The group is also set to distribute a number to nebulizers to health centers in the city.
