Age-group tennis tourney in GenSan

THE 2007 Head/Tuna Festival Age-Group Tennis Championships will get underway on Saturday at the General Santos City courts, said Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional vice-president Juanito Cansino Jr. on Wednesday.

Cansino will also serve as the tournament director.

Updates on the Kadayawan Festival 2007

He said the three-day netfest is a Group 3 Philta-sanctioned event sponsored by Head, the city government of General Santos and Princeton Construction.

Interested players may contact me at my mobile number 0917-4036588 for the registration. Deadline of registration is Friday, 7 p.m. Tournament proper will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Cash prizes, trophies and tennis equipment are up for grabs in the competition that expects close to a 100 netters from the host city, Koronadal, Cotabato, Davao City, Digos, Tagum, Compostela Valley and other nearby cities, municipalities and provinces.

Categories include the 10-under unisex, boys and girls 12-under, 14-under, 16-under and 18-under. (MLSA)
