Hanoi Heaven!
By Jojie Alcantara

HANOI Restaurant first introduced authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the city a few years back even when enterprising couple Rey and Neneng dela Paz have their hands full in managing Casa Leticia and Tsuru Restaurant.

This month, they opened another branch at Damosa Gateway, Bajada, to the delight of customers who need not go downtown to experience a different gourmet delight. The ribbon cutting ceremony was graced by the new City Tourism Officer, Gerry Angeles.

Updates on the Kadayawan Festival 2007

Hanoi was a concept borne out of the couple's love for travel and exploring new places. Having discovered Vietnam and its wonderful culture, they thought of bringing to Davao the popular Vietnamese cuisine and the key ingredients that make it savory and distinct.

Guests filled the new restaurant during the grand opening, and everyone had their fill at the buffet table. My favorite, of course, were the spring rolls and couldn't resist taking seconds (and more...and more).

At Hanoi outlet beside Casa Leticia, I fell in love with their crabs cooked in tamarind sauce and the beef tenderloin with tomatoes (Bo Luc Lac), apart from the Vietnamese starter platter which is guaranteed to fill your stomach in ways unimaginable.

The couple raffled off many items to the guests, and the celebration continued throughout the evening.

My warm congratulations to the couple for another successful venture which will surely boost Davao's tourism and food industry.
