Friday, September 21, 2007 Patafa officiating course kicks off Friday at KTEMS
CLOSE to 100 participants are expected in the Patafa officiating seminar that gets underway at 9 a.m. Friday, at the Kapita Tomas Monteverde Elementary School (KTMES).
Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (Patafa) regional director Belen Kempis Taala said this during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn Thursday.
"We have former 400 meter hurdles national record holder Renato Unso as resource speaker. He is currently the Dean of the Physical Education Department of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)," Taala said.
She said the seminar, which aims to update participants on the new standard officiating rules of track and field, is endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education.
"We are encouraging athletes, coaches, PE majors, sports directors, trainers and sports enthusiasts to attend the seminar," Taala said.
Registration fee is P200 inclusive of an officiating manual.
The seminar is in coordination with the Davao City Sports Council, Inc. (MLSA)
