THE Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings beat Agro Industrial Foundation High, 78-74, in overtime in the 5th Gaisano South (GS) Cup at the GS Citimall SkyGym Friday night.
Francis Joseph Cutin scored game-high 22 points and added three rebounds, three steals and one block to be named best player of the game.
Jonard Dayap, Norievien Pausta and Ruel Mesa made 15, 14 and 13 points, respectively, to give JMC the needed lift in their juniors division 1 match.
Reden Celda led Agro with 19 points.
The AMA College drew first blood after shattering Brokenshire College, 89-67, in the college division 2 game held Thursday.
AMA relied mainly on Karlo Cajes who drilled 19 points with nine assists, three steals and three rebounds.
Mark Tutor added 14 while Charles Kabingue and Luis Reyna scored identical 11 points.
Glenn Paul Guillen topscored for Brokenshire with 16 points.
In juniors division 2, Holy Cross of Sasa whipped Davao Wisdom Academy (DWA), 90-82.
Games today pit DPLC against Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) in the mini division at 10 a.m. and Assumption College of Davao (ACD) vs Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) at 12 p.m. and Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Smad) vs ACD at 1:30 p.m. in cadets.
The St. Peter's College of Toril battles ACD in junior division 2 at 3 p.m. while the 4:30 p.m. main game will have San Pedro College going up against Holy Child School of Davao in college division 2. (MLSA)
