Sara bans TV sets in City Hall offices
By Ben O. Tesiorna

SHE may be a neophyte in running a City, but she surely means business.

This is what employees of City Hall discovered when acting Mayor Sara Duterte ordered all television sets in different offices at City Hall recalled and deposited at the General Services Office.

The order came after the young Duterte reportedly caught some City Hall employees watching TV even during office hours.

City Administrator Wendel Avisado said the order of Duterte just showed how serious she is in her job, as he described such move as "just right and proper" and within the young Duterte's powers and functions.

"Ang atong mga empleyado gimanduan na mag-focus gyud sa ilang trabaho. Kay ang mga tawo na magsuroy sa buhatan ninyo ug makita na nagtan-aw lang mo ug TV ingnon na lang nila na wala moy ginabuhat. Likayan ta na aron makaingon sad ta na (City government employees should focus on their work. People who drop by our offices and see our workers watching television will believe we are not doing anything. We should avoid such impression so that people will say) we deserve the salary that the City Government is paying us," Avisado said.

The acting mayor issued the memorandum Friday and was enforced immediately.
