IN A gesture of thanksgiving for its successful existence since 1996 in Davao City, Communities Philippines celebrated its 11th year with an anniversary bash for all its brokers, contractors, suppliers, and friends at the Grand Regal Hotel last September 14.
Communities Philippines hosted a "Jamaican Night" at the hotel's pool area and feted about a hundred guests; all clad in Jamaican-inspired clothing and who swayed to the soulful and rock steady rhythms of Bob Marley and other reggae artists as performed by the guest band.
"We want to give them a night to break away from the rigors of work to relax, dress down, and have fun with friends and colleagues. It's our way of saying thank you for being with us for 11 wonderful years in Davao," remarked Myra Lynn R. Gilig, general manager of Communities Philippines-Davao.
The evening was the perfect occasion for the guests to do just that, dressed in wildly colorful but comfortable attire, savoring the scrumptious dinner and tasty cold drinks, and swaying to pulsating contemporary Caribbean music.
A new treat for their eyes and senses was a fire-juggling act by guest artists that both awed and thrilled the guests.
Soon brokers and guests gave in to the reggae beat of the playing band, and started dancing at the sidelines as others enjoyed pleasant chats with other guests. The evening was replete with good music, laughter, dancing, and the sound of people having a Jamaican-ly good time.
The multi-awarded developer had earlier extended its thanksgiving to the public by offering special discounts in a "Special Buyers Day" held the day before. Its 11 years in Davao is highlighted by its successful projects noted for bringing the local real estate development several notches higher.
Its first project is Solariega, a Caribbean-themed living community that tops the lists of the best and most-admired subdivisions in Davao. This was followed by the Italian-inspired Toscana which, like its sister subdivision Solariega, is fast becoming another popular and thriving community.
