Duterte is scheduled to undergo acromioplasty at an undisclosed hospital in Metro Manila anytime this week.

Lawrence "Bong" Go, personal aide of Duterte, said the mayor wants his operation to be confidential.

"Yun ang instruction ni Mayor," Go said in a text message to this reporter when asked for details about Duterte's operation.

Even acting Mayor Sara Duterte claimed not knowing anything about the scheduled operation of her father for the nerve pain he is feeling in his shoulder.

"I don't have info talaga. We have not talked since the oath taking," the younger Duterte said.

He is on leave from September 18 till October 10. A US-based Filipino doctor will perform the acromioplasty on the mayor.

A few months ago, Mayor Duterte revealed that he will either be operated at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center or St. Luke's Hospital depending on his doctor's preference. (BOT)
