UIC spikers outgun rivals

THE University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) and Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) advanced to the semi-finals after topping their respective groups in the DACS Meet college volleyball tournament Sunday.

UIC spanked host Brokenshire College, 25-16, 25-18, to grab its fifth straight win for the No. 1 spot in the men's A group while HCDC won via default over St. Mary's College of Tagum for a clean 5-0, win-loss slate in men's B.

SPCT also breezed through an easy win against no-show Cor Jesu College of Digos in men's B while Brokenshire also won via default over Assumption College of Nabunturan (AsCN) in men's A.

In the distaff side, San Pedro College (SPC) and AdDU won over HCC via default in women's B while UIC annexed a win against AsCN in women's A of the Davao Amateur Volleyball Association (Dava)-sanctioned event.

The AdDU volleybelles overwhelmed Brokenshire, 25-11, 25-7, while SPC downed St. Peter's College of Toril (SPCT), 25-13, 25-15.

The HCDC men's team thrashed John Paul College (JPC), 25-6, 25-13 while Philippine Women's College (PWC) defeated SPCT, 25-11, 25-17 in men's B on Saturday. (MLSA)
