Consumer desks great help to DTI: official
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

TRADE and Industry Assistant Regional Director Marizon Loreto claimed that the existence of consumer welfare desks (CWDs) in department stores and other product and service outlets in Davao City is a great help to the department in addressing consumers' concerns and issues.

"We were very thankful that the private sector supports us, the establishment of CWD is a very big help to us, dati kasi lahat ng reklamo sa amin ang bagsak, with the CWDs may concerns na nari-resolve at na-aaddress na sa store pa lang," Loreto said during Wednesday's edition of the Club 888 press forum.

Loreto said DTI-Southern Mindanao always conducts regular focus group discussions with the CWD officers of the appliance centers, cellphone centers, hardware, department stores, drugstores, and other firms involved in the service sector.

"We conduct group discussions, hindi namin sila pinagsasabay-sabay, iba-ibang groups ang mini-meet namin every other week so that we can hear their concerns regarding customers, at kami naman meron ding nai-impart sa kanila kung ano ang dapat nilang gawin in those cases," Loreto expressed.

Loreto said the installation of a CWD facility is very important in every store in order to address immediately whatever concern the consumers have.
