Foreign biz chambers to join Date '07
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

THE Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) is expecting to draw in no more than 200 exhibitors and anticipates the participation of foreign chambers of commerce in the upcoming Davao Trade Expo (Date) 2007 slated on October 25-28 at the NCCC Mall of Davao.

Date 2007 will feature indoor products and services in an exhibit, product and service presentations, sampling events, and business matching activities.

Ferdinand Marañon, Date 2007 chair, earlier said Date's theme rides on the crest of the BIMP-Eaga conference in the city, which is also slated this month.

"This year's theme is 'Invest in Davao: Gateway to BIMP-Eaga'," he said.

The theme is a manifestation of DCCCII's goal to promote Davao not only as an investment destination for local investors, but also foreign investors who recognize Davao as a source of globally competitive products and services.

Meanwhile, other participants who are expected to join the event are plantation owners and managers, poultry and livestock raisers, food manufacturing and marketing professionals, and leaders of local and foreign chambers of commerce from these areas will be present during the event.

Global buyers, business franchisers, representatives of funding agencies and financial institutions, and local and foreign investors are also expected to participate in one of the biggest events of the year.
