Hope dims for remaining miner in Diwalwal tunnel
Children try to break through the concrete slab of what was once the floor of a toilet to get at the reinforcement bars embedded there, which they intend to sell. The scene is at the seashore of St. John-B, Barangay 76-A late last week after waves pounded and destroyed houses. (Seth Delos Reyes/Sunnex)
HOPE is waning for the miner who remains trapped inside a tunnel in Diwalwal since its collapse in October 3.

Mt. Diwata barangay captain Franco Tito said they fear that miner Fermin Piquero is already dead as there is already a foul stench coming from inside the tunnel where the miner's body is still trapped.
