MILF cautions against 'witch-hunting'
By Ben O. Tesiorna

THE Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) called on authorities not to be hasty in their investigation on the latest bombing in Kidapawan City.

MILF officials denied having any hand in the incident that killed two children and injured 32 others.

In its official website Luwaran.com, MILF Central Committee spokesman Khaled Musa condemned the latest atrocity by "the followers of darkness" calling them as cowards.

"The followers of darkness have again struck and shown their total disregard for the lives of innocent men and women," Musa said.

Musa urged the public to cooperate with authorities in identifying the real perpetrators.

He also urged the police and the military not conduct witch-hunting by apprehending anyone and making them confess to the crime.

The MILF or some of its members were constantly dragged into bombing incidents in the past. The MILF was quick to deny the accusations though. Many of MILF members charged in court for their involvement in the blasts had been acquitted for lack of evidence.

Friday's twin explosions in Kidapawan are being blamed on the Jemaah Islamiyah and Al-Khobar group.
