THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF-Mindanao) will conduct the construction safety and health course for site safety officers on October 15-19 at the Mindanao Training Resource Center (MTRC), Davao Medical School Foundation in Bajada, Davao City.
The 40-hour course is a requirement for the accreditation of safety officers by the Bureau of Working Condition (BWC) as provided for in Department of Labor (Dole) Order 3, governing guidelines on occupational safety and health in construction.
This is to ensure that construction sites have adequate and approved safety programs aimed to protect not only the workers but also its immediate environment.
The target participants are project engineers or any personnel involved in performing safety and health-related functions from private firms, government agencies, academe and local government units.
The seminar will specifically enable the participants to:
* Obtain a working knowledge on Construction Project Safety Management;
* Demonstrate an adequate knowledge on the concept of hazard identification, accident prevention, and routine safety inspections;
* Understand Dole Order 13 and its relevant provisions on the practice of safety and health in project sites;
* Plan, implement, and monitor safety and health related programs.
For those who are interested, the registration fee is P3,800 per participant. The cost includes instructional materials, certificates, and meals.
