A KAWASAKI motorcycle, a roundtrip ticket to Hong Kong via Manila, and a Panasonic television are the hole-in-one prizes at stake in the 6th Mindanao Cavaliers Cup Golf for a Cause Tournament on Saturday at the Apo Golf and Country Club.
Ronald Go of the PMA Alumni Eagle Faternal Chapter said the golf tournament will benefit the bereaved families of five marines, all members of the Force Recon, who were ambushed in Basilan.
Go told members of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) during their weekly forum at the Tower Inn Thursday that the families of killed 1 Lt. Ludwig Salvador (PMA class 2005), 1 Lt. Roldan Samera (class 2006), 1 Lt. Erwin Soleren (class 2006), 1 Lt. Eugene Machiste Pi¤era (class 2006) and 1 Lt. Anthony Camelon (class 2007) will be the beneficiaries of the golfest.
Some 200 participants are expected to join the 18-hole Stableford individual competition.
Tee-off time is at 6 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. The ceremnial tee-off is set at 8 a.m. Registration fee is P1,800 including mulligan.
