CallBox to put up contact center inside NCCC Mall
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

THE National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (Nerbac) of the regional office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Southern Mindanao reported that another Manila-based call center company is presently negotiating with one of the malls in Davao City for possible operation soon.

Teolulo Pasawa, Nerbac-DTI director, said in an interview the company would be offering more than 500 seats for qualified individuals with skills to be a call center agent.

"I learned that the CallBox call center company is discussing with the NCCC Mall for possible location inside the mall," Pasawa said.

He said if talks between the call center company and NCCC Mall will materialize, the call center's operation will start before the year ends.

Meanwhile, Pasawa said that Sutherland, a foreign-based call center company, is asking support from the City Government of Davao.

"They are still assessing all the factors before they will put up a company here. They are asking the City Government for some support, they need areas where they can hold their trainings," Pasawa said.

He said Sutherland still wants to hold trainings in Davao City aside from the two training programs they offered a few months back. The training programs were earlier conducted in cooperation with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).
