Ibuyan's son wants to be barangay chief

THE son of Councilor Edgar Ramos Ibuyan intends to fill in the post vacated by the councilor. Ibuyan's son filed his certificate of candidacy for the barangay 5-A chairmanship in the coming barangay elections on October 29.

Edgar "Jun-Jun" Ibuyan Jr. intends to keep the position held by his namesake father for 10 years before the elder Ibuyan was picked by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte to run for councilor in the May 2007 elections.

A 33-year-old electrical engineer, Ibuyan Jr. is consultant of the Ma-a Slaughterhouse.

During the incumbency of his father as barangay councilman and captain of Bankerohan, Ibuyan Jr. worked as executive assistant.

The younger Ibuyan is slugging it out with Rodolfo Estoque, the barangay's number one councilman who assumed the post as barangay captain last July when the older Ibuyan took his oath as councilor.

After filing his COC, he was accompanied by councilmen candidates running under his wing and supporters in a motorcade around the city. (GLP)
