Duterte denies endorsing Paolo, any Bucana bet
By Carlo P. Mallo

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte clarified Sunday that he has not endorsed candidate for the barangay polls Monday, not even his son Paolo, nor anyone especially in Barangay Bucana where a certain candidate is claiming his endorsement.

Post your comments on the explosion at the Glorietta 2 mall in Makati City.

"I did not endorse anyone in Bucana, especially those who use the name of Hugpong," Duterte said in his weekly television program Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa.

Moreover, Duterte said while his son Paolo is running unopposed in Barangay Catalunan Grande as barangay chairman, he is not endorsing nor campaigning for the young Duterte.

"I can help him in so many ways but not through an endorsement or campaign," Duterte said.

Duterte said a certain aspirant for the post of barangay chairman in Bucana has been using the name of Hugpong in his campaigns. Duterte refused to name the candidate although the mayor mentioned that it was only incumbent Barangay Captain Celso Tizon who has supported him in the past.

"It is impossible that Hugpong will endorse anyone because the Barangay election is a non-partisan exercise," Duterte said.

"It will be the people who will decide who to vote for," Duterte said.
