P800M worth of projects eyed in Davao Norte

MORE than P800 million worth of projects are expected to be implemented in the 2nd congressional district of Davao del Norte thru the help of Representative Anton Lagdameo.

Thirty-three projects worth a total of P873 million will soon be undertaken by the different government agencies in Panabo City, the Island Garden City of Samal, Carmen, Braulio Dujali, Santo Tomas and other municipalities of the said district.

Post your comments on the explosion at the Glorietta 2 mall in Makati City.

Among the projects eyed are the concreting of the Agusan-Davao road in Panabo City, the installation of submarine electrical cable in Igacos, rehabilitation and desilting of the main drainage canal for the irrigation system of Carmen, improvement of protection dikes along the Tuganay River in Braulio Dujali, and the drainage improvement of the Libuganon River Irrigation System in the three towns of Carmen, Dujali and Sto. Tomas among others.

The most expensive projects lined up are the agrarian reform projects in Carmen worth P269,440,000. Next are the P99.8M projects for the National Irrigation Administration.

Third most expensive project is submarine electrical cable in Igacos worth P70 million.

It was learned that the present submarine cable from Davao City to mainland Igacos will be replaced and transferred to the Talikud Island. Thus residents in Talikud Island will now have stable power supply.

Most if not all of the said projects were facilitated by Lagdameo to the different government agencies for funding. Lagdameo also asked funding from the Office of the President for the drainage improvement and the submarine cable projects. (BOT)
