Hold-up suspect nabbed in Buhangin

A HOLD-up suspect was arrested after he was accused of coercing money from a money collector at knifepoint at Communal in Buhangin, Davao City, Wednesday night.

Arrested was Archie Jalalagtoy, 20, a resident of purok 4 in Green Valley, Communal, Buhangin district after he was accused as the suspect in the robbing of Jericho Tanio, 30, collector of Big 8 Fin Corporation, and a resident of Rosalina village 3 in Toril, Davao City.

Initial investigation of the Buhangin police showed that Tanio was standing at a waiting shed in purok 4, Communal at around 6:30 p.m. of October 31 when a man, later identified as Jalalagtoy, who was drunk approached him armed with a knife.

The suspect poked his knife at Tanio, aiming it on his neck and getting his collection of P5,000. Jalalagtoy then left.

The victim sought the assistance of barangay policemen Jhovanny Luberio and Ricky Pepito that led to the arrest of the suspect just in front of his house.

Jalalagtoy is now detained at the Buhangin police station awaiting the filing of charges against him. (RMH)
