Friday, November 02, 2007 Teener shot while driving a triskad
A TEENER landed in the hospital after he was shot at by another minor using an improvised gun while driving a trisikad along Roxas avenue, Davao City at past midnight Thursday.
The victim, who is presently undergoing treatment at the Davao Medical Center, was identified as Antonio Miralles, 18, a resident of Mabini Extension, Davao City.
Based on information gathered by Sun.Star SuperBalita, the incident occurred at around 2 a.m. Thursday while the victim was driving his trisikad.
According to the victim's companion, Jonathan Masigay, they were ferrying passengers from Bonifacio street to Roxas Avenue.
However, as they were going back to their route, they heard a gunshot from behind and then Masigay saw Miralles bloodied.
Masigay said when he turned towards the direction of the gunshot, he saw one alias Lyndon/Dondon carrying an improvised gun and fleeing the area.
There are unconfirmed reports that the incident is part of a gang war.
However, Masigay said the suspect might be harboring personal grudges against the Miralles or was just a thrill-seeker who shot at the victim on impulse. (RCO)
